Cortex lets engineers understand, explore, and operate their services. It automatically catalogs all your microservices + information about them from your third party tools, and then uses that data to improve engineering workflows. Cortex becomes the entrypoint into your services, helping you understand what your services do, who owns them, and even organize links to documentation/runbooks/etc. We enable integrations (Datadog, Slack, Github, PagerDuty, etc) to help centralize tooling for your services across the company.
How does it work?
Cortex lets you describe your service next to your code, in a single YAML file. This includes details such as:
- Service owners (emails/slack/okta group)
- Pagerduty rotation
- Github repo
As part of your build process, upload the YAML file to Cortex and you're good to go!
If you use GitHub, you can use our GitHub app for automatic setup - we'll parse the service descriptor on every merge to your default branch.
